This time of year we are working at a frenzied pace, trying to get everything done before the year ends and we say good-bye to another group of kids. Assessments, check out lists, packing your room, end of year reflections…not to mention all the things you still want to do with your class. Sometimes as I get yet another email of “to-do’s”, I wonder how in the world it will all get done. One of my favorite authors and artists is Brian Andreas, of Storypeople. It’s a wonderful site with fun “stories” that fit so many life events. You can even get a daily story emailed to you. It’s the first email I read every morning. He has a story that I constantly remind myself of this time of year,
“i can imagine it working out perfectly, i said. i can’t, she said and i said no wonder you’re so stressed”.
Remember to take time every day to laugh with your kids, BREATHE, and enjoy being with them these final days of the school year. Everything will get done, and will work out perfectly. It always does. So imagine it all working out…as hard as that can be to actually do, it makes me a lot less stressed when I’m imagining it all working out perfectly.
Enjoy!

Your Storypeople posting came at a perfect time today! Thanks for the reminder to shake off the stress (GAE-crazy these days for sure!) and enjoy what is really important!
LOVE your new site…THANKS for being my inspiration!
Ahh, yes! It’s this time of year when I have to remind myself to breath deeply and slowly (like when I have students who are mooing all together like cows in the middle math talks….”moooochas gracias”) and think, “I know I will laugh about this later and miss all of your silly senses of humor next year when you aren’t my students anymore, but right now….YOU’RE DRIVING ME NUTS!”
Love the website, Katie. What an inspiration!
